We offer a range of treatments to all of our patients with Mental Health concerns, some may find that medication works for them, others find they need some extra support through counselling.
Your doctor may offer you a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan which is tailored to your needs to choose the best method to improve your Mental Health. A mental health care plan is a plan for people with a mental health disorder, this can range from a feeling of depression, hopelessness and more complex mental health issues. You may be referred to Medicare covered sessions with a Psychologist under a GP Mental Health Treatment plan, or alternatively perhaps even an appropriately trained Doctor, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist.
Mental Health Care Plans are a part of the Medicare Benefits Schedule (Better Access) initiative, this helps to provide better Access to Psychiatrists, Psychologists and General Practitioners to improve outcomes for individuals with a clinically diagnosed mental disorder.
